The Minneapolis shootings are horrifying but what makes them distinctive in my mind is that the shooters are federal agents. US police kill more than 1100 people per year (source: Mapping Police Violence). Most victims don't encounter federal "law enforcement." More than ICE needs to be defunded.

Most Americans are largely ignorant of this history and have no idea that this history of imperialism is a powerful force in Caribbean/Central American national identities, patriotism, and a force for causing migration to the U.S. I expect significant migration from Venezuela to the U.S. in 2026.

I love living in Germany, but one thing I hate here is Black Friday Woche (week). Black Friday is bad enough in the U.S., but in a country which doesn't even observe Thanksgiving, it is insane. No Thanksgiving holiday, no Black Friday BS and certainly not a whole freaking week of it!

Great news about Judge Immergut's ruling on Portland but judges everywhere need to get out of their courtrooms & into the streets so they can say clearly in their rulings that everything the govt is claiming about immigrant criminals & cities in chaos is all LIES. I finally finished reading book 3 of Richard Evans' Third Reich trilogy, Third Reich at War, this morning, 1 day after daylight savings ended here in Germany. I started this trilogy at the start of daylight savings in April. I highly recommend, but I am also so glad to be done with Nazism!

Thanks to Drumpf's illegal tariffs and chaos at Customs, it is almost impossible to send a package from Europe to the U.S now and letters are now taking 4+ weeks or even longer. DHL is explicitly telling Europeans that problems with its intl postal service are due to the problems with US Customs.

Perhaps the solution to Drumpf's dillusion about Portland being on fire is to send him there to see for himself. The key is: no protests, completely ignore him, ghost him, just people going about their daily lives as if he weren't there. Maybe the trauma of being ignored would give him an aneurysm.
