Not a perk.

Pretty much the level of journalism I expect from the city that proudly claimed the world’s most prolific sex offender as their own.

There’s no journalist with any sort of platform who cares.

This is the basic problem with a clueless political class and journalists who weren’t even smart enough to make it into it.

The state is providing no such thing. They provide a benefit some people choose to top up to have higher end vehicles.

Do you regularly comment on matters you know absolutely nothing about and which support your own myopically limited worldview?

Go kick down on someone else.

As someone with a Motability car, higher spec cars mean your have to make an advanced payment, because the car will then cost more than the monthly payment to lease. Why shouldn't a wealthy Motability driver have a more expensive car? They are paying for it, not you, DWP or anyone else.

I’ve never been more enthusiastic about FPTP than seeing constituencies across Scotland have Labour and Reform bleeding votes for second and third places.

And finally, and this can’t be understated, there were multiple foreign language films on “council telly” every single week.

Far more proportionately than on any mainstream streamer.

In short, the “Empire” readership might enjoy foreign flicks, if only they had seen some.

Since I first read Empire more than half a lifetime ago I’m not sure its demographic has changed that much. It’s an enormously important publication in UK pop culture but Sight and Sound it ain’t…

I think the difference is that most of the writers at launch still had a cineaste background.

Of the surviving brands, the majority of them don’t even have a British factory left; so this theory is as dead in the water as Starmer’s other idiotic theory that Brexit can be made an unqualified success.
November 25, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Because there was a room somewhere in North West England with a one way mirror and a bunch of people with sub 100 IQs scrabbled the brands that they hate in crayon.

It really is that simple, that’s how fundamentally broken policy making is in Britain today.
November 25, 2025 at 7:32 PM
The biggest problem today is the Centrists nodding along in large numbers. They have the education to learn the facts but prefer to believe the mistruths spoon fed by our profoundly morally broken media and political class.
November 25, 2025 at 7:26 PM
Therefore the policy exists solely to say that disabled people shouldn’t have nice things because no one in the Red Wall can. Hence targeting brands not the cost of the vehicle.

That is performative cruelty.

Irrespective of this, it’s a policy as poorly thought through as most others from Starmer.

Because the state isn’t financing a luxury vehicle.

The extra upfront cost of the luxury vehicle is met by the user.

If anything the state is better off because of the improved residuals when the lease ends.

I imagine that these facts, facts of which you were wholly ignorant, now surprise you.
November 25, 2025 at 7:15 PM
Am I? You’ve said this performative cruelty against the most unfortunate members of society is tickety boo. That mens you support it does it not?
November 25, 2025 at 7:04 PM
Go kick over a wheelchair Geoff, if you’re onboard with this performative cruelty when will you realise enough is enough?
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Let’s not beat around the bush. Geoff sounds like a cunt. And cunts like Geoff, the ones who claim to be progressive, are why the country is such a fucking shit show.
November 25, 2025 at 6:43 PM
And of course they have massively better residuals than shite Fords, so the whole thing runs at a massive profit and costs the government practically nothing.
November 25, 2025 at 6:40 PM
It’s completely fucking ludicrous. You know they focus grouped it with one way mirror to a bunch of barely sentient oiks in Burnley.

We live in a country that serves the people mostly responsible for its decline.
