Trying out Bluesky since the bird is going belly-up.
Hopefully she'll realize how destructive it is to her life to let people steer her like that instead of standing for herself before she gets sucked into a situation she can't get out of, or that causes permanent damage.

Someone who instantly lets someone else take control of her life and put her on that kind of awful trajectory is probably not someone good to hang around...she might be great on her own, but wanting to have you or anyone else expose yourself to that kind of situation is just...not okay.

I would honestly be reconsidering my friendship with someone who not only welcomes that kind of thing into her own life, but wants to impose it on you and gets angry at you for not wanting anything to do with it.

You absolutely did the right thing. I have seen way too many lives destroyed - both those of the users AND those who just happened to be around them - to ever tolerate being in a place where people are using drugs. You kept yourself safe and stood your ground, and that's awesome!

Maybe being in the states makes them angry? I mean I know being stuck living here puts ME in a bad mood.

You are very brave to get that close. Last time I got within 100 yards of canadian geese I got chased about half a mile and laughed at by everyone in their cars watching me run for my life from the cobra chickens.

You would not believe how often I got in trouble in Sunday School and Catholic schools I got sent to for pointing out things like that, or direct contradictions and questioning the bible, when I was a kid. There's good reason I left all that behind long ago.

I always find it fascinating how many rituals and practices that many religions use constantly are actually carryovers from religions and beliefs that they denounce and call evil at every opportunity. I know the mistletoe thing isn't particularly religious NOW, but still.
