She/Her - Purchasing dragon by day, voracious reader and crafty bitch by night; queer, polyamorous, and neurospicy all of the time!
Costco, I love you, but I think I may have a problem... 😅

In my defense, I AM restocking our house for the first time, after spending the past TWO MONTHS temporarily living on the other side of the state!

(But really, though, I can't be trusted there unsupervised!)

@mollyharperauth.bsky.social brought the best on-theme swag to her book signing tonight - waiting to see how @tirzahprice.bsky.social escalates, at the next event!

(Although the cross stitch pattern last time was pretty impressive!)

Cory Booker breaking Strom Thurmond's record was exactly the moment of joy I needed today.

@booker.senate.gov - thank you!

100% fact, right here!
Being late-diagnosed for autism is like suddenly knowing why your entire life has been on hard mode and that it was NEVER YOUR FAULT

Mango Cream Pie, from Jam Bake by Camilla Wynne - it's not often that I end up with something that looks like the photo on the recipe!

*Immediately after taking this photo, I proceeded to dump the rest of the whipped cream on the pie, because seriously, who's gonna want a piece without it?!?

Me to Partner: Do you need the GPS?

Partner: Nah, I know where I'm going!

He then proceeds to ask me to confirm a turn, misses a turn, and needs me to reroute him back on the path he supposedly knows.

Sir, this is why I asked you about the GPS when we left! Directions are its job, not mine! 🙄

The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White was brutal, but so, so, good. A book with a trans AND autistic main character, in a gothic horror setting, that I simply couldn't put down!

Choosing a favorite is nevvvvvvver gonna happen! I probably read memoirs the most, because I find other people fascinating! That's probably my autism showing; I read about other people, because how else will I figure out how they work?!

જ⁀➴ If you read nonfiction, what is your favorite work? If you don't, what topic do you think would intrigue you enough to pick up a nonfiction book?

I go through my TBR often, but very rarely do I take anything
off the list for reasons other than actually reading it. I am an unrepentant mood reader, so I figure, if something goes on the list and hangs out for awhile, I'll be in the mood for it again eventually!

જ⁀➴ Do you go through and remove books from your TBR that you are no longer interested in reading? If so, how often? If not, why?

I don't know what wizardry they used to make this carrot cake chai at The Congregation, but I'll be damned - it really does taste like carrot cake!

Set in the 1990s, Kate & Frida by Kim Fay is told as the letters between a bookseller/aspiring novelist and a fledgling war correspondent. It is so very timely and relevant now, as it touches on war and refugees, as well as family, food, and the struggle of finding yourself in your twenties.

Made a quick trip to the other side of the state today, to pick up some prescriptions, and stopped into my favorite bookstore for some self care.

I always find the best books at @bettiespages.bsky.social !

I am sorely out of date on current middle grade series, but a favorite from my own childhood were the Bunnicula books!

Could be, that was the start of my love of both vampire books AND terrible puns!

It's my sister's birthday lovelies! 💬📚

To celebrate today's QOTD is inspired by her

What is a middle grade book/series you love? 💙📚

I went to Tirzah's last book launch, where Molly was the moderator - can't wait for round two, where it's Molly's book and Tirzah gets to quiz her!

The surgeon said I have to increase my husband's protein intake, to speed up wound healing - I just took it upon myself to also increase his daily intake of schmoop, at the same time!

Best decision ever, was firing Audible and switching to Libro.fm - and I signed up through my favorite indie bookstore, who gets credit for everything I buy. Win-win!

When it's your 21st anniversary, and your spouse is stuck in the hospital, you make do, and instead of going out for your traditional celebratory tacos, you just bring a thermos full of meat and bags of ingredients, and have a taco picnic in their room.

I love you more than queso!

I am in this post, and do not like it! 😅
Autism: Listening to the same song over and over again
ADHD: Needing constant variety when listening to music.
AuDHD: Creating a playlist of multiple covers of the same songs so that you have the same music but with 💫 variety 💫

Apologies for falling off the face of the earth, apparently. The world was already a shit show, but then my personal world imploded, too.

As penance, I give you my family's recipe for banana bread - Rose Latz was my Gramma Rose.

The ability to add alt text to images was one of the first things I noticed when I added a photo yesterday, and I was thrilled to see it!
All my Newskies: I implore you to go to your account's settings icon, click the thing and choose accessibility, then fix it so you CANNOT post an image without alt text. I am visually impaired (as are many using this app), and alt text is my friend. And my friend is your friend too. Right?
