I love ur work so much, I’m doing an essay based on your artwork and I thought I should maybe ask what do you think would be the best work of your to write about?

As a furry artist, exploring outside the normal body with queer identity by using fantasy characters like furries is really freeing and exhilarating. Doing this feels like I’m recreating history and making something new.

Thank you for listening to my explanation!

I thought about changing the background to a gay nightclub to show contrast between the older painting and this one to show that time changes but people stay the same but if I did that then you couldn’t tell that this was homage.

Tierney (priest) the honey badger is known for taking what they want and I thought the power play was quite hot and is connected to the position of the dom. Also in the show Tierney’s a holy knight so I thought within this setting he should be the one dominating the demonic bat.

Valerian (nun) being a bat in this painting is a metaphor for being misunderstood, which in my eyes is also a queer theme. Also the fact that they’re creatures of the night and the nun is partaking in desires at night time letting his sexual gay nature out.

I love the religious symbols, how at this banquet where powerful people indulged in food they also indulged in each other which is contradictory to the public eye of the church. This links to queer themes in my version where the two men are doing the same thing but in private.

To explain the original painting, it’s about an orgy taking place within the ‘banquet of chestnuts’ in 1880 where a bunch of people of higher power in the church indulged in sexual acts with courtesans and the original is of a nun and priest committing sexual acts thought a gate.
