My kids know I’m really poorly when they see me reach for herbal or fruit tea.

Am currently drinking this with hot water as a Ribena-ersatz cause I needed something warm and soothing that isn’t tea.

Apparently, this tea is called FAK tea. Which is my reaction when someone offers me herbal tea.

Found a photo! It was the Icelandic mountain rescue team. They used to train them at Glenmore.

Do pharmacists get lessons in origami during their uni years? I can never get the leaflet back in the box.

For the Brits in Germany - am testing Wick DayMed, which looks a lot like Lemsip. Similar to the standard Cold & Flu version, but Wick also has Guaifenisin.

This on the day that I deep cleaned the kitchen. I seem to be nesting. Don’t think the kitchen has ever been this clean.

Rearranged the kitchen drawers (cause they were getting stuck due to all the crap in there) and sent my family a video explained where which utensils lives.

Just in case anyone ever wants to reconsider my German citizenship.

And when you are in Sanderau, stop at Cafe Victoria Bachmaier for cake.

You can keep your fancy Barock churches. I much prefer the rawness of this style.

Anyone in Würzburg? The St Andreas church in Sanderau is empty at the moment as it was used as a movie set last week.

Without the benches, the stunning brutalist architecture is even more striking. You can really appreciate the light and shadow effects from the huge skylights. #brutalist

Sorry, but lol at the second paragraph. ‘If they are to function as corporate enterprises, run by market forces’.

A company that spent £130m+ on admin and technology that doesn’t work would be out of the market pretty damn quick.

There’s no way that kid isn’t thinking ‘WTF. This isn’t an advent calendar’.

In new ‘why, just why’ English being used in Germany, I give you:

Before Christmas Street.

Someone responded on that thread with this quote from Vonnegut - in an obituary for his friend, Joseph Heller.

She also gave me a wee bag of Lebkuchen. The big ones.

Payment for IT support.

An elderly friend of my MIL lives alone and her sons are in Vienna and Stuttgart. When she has issues with her phone or laptop, she calls me.

Was at a Steak Tasting tonight, lads. Filet, entrecôte, sirloin, wagyu, and tomahawk. From local farms and from Spain and Argentina. Couple of glasses of wine and a Quittenschnapps. I’m well done.

What would your Grok say about you?

I asked ChatGPT to describe me in the way that Grok talks about Musk.

I looked it up earlier. Guess who is the Schirmherr?

Presumably, it’s always the chancellor. They couldn’t have chosen him, surely!

This struck me - they knew he was a racist bully, and yet the made him prefect anyway. No wonder men like this think they can get away with anything by adopting the label ‘contrarian’.

I’ve been promoted to the aristocracy. Graf von Nothegger sounds rather good, doesn’t it?

Husband came home from a business trip with this manly masculine marzipan for Real Men, none of your girly, dainty chocolate for us, thank you very much.

What perfect album came out the year you turned 16?

I went back to the original post and checked. A crisp has oats. I don’t think I’ve ever made that distinction. My brother taught me to add oats to a crumble.

I looked up why it’s called Black Week - originally Black Friday. Nothing to do with colour.
