I want to thank Nicole for inviting me to join her and Sarah on this monumental undertaking. This is the first-ever chapter on social class in the HSP -- it was exciting to see how much we've learned as a field about this pressing social divide, and how many more questions remain! (4/4)

We close with recommendations, including how to think about choosing a measure of social class. (One thing we noticed in reviewing the literature is that measurement is often inconsistent, and we hope this advice will be useful to researchers in deciding what measures to choose.) (3/4)

In the chapter, we define what social class is and how it relates to constructs like status and power; give a history of research on the topic; discuss major theories of social class; and analyze its effects across four levels of culture: ideas, institutions, interactions, and individuals. (2/4)
