A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L Peck.
An ironically short novel for something that speaks on the vastness of the infinite, or technically finite, but so far out of the range of human comprehension that what's the difference? Genuinely unnerving reading experience but one I thoroughly recommend!

Today my partner and I said goodbye to our little princess. Unfortunately, despite several procedures and surgeries her little body just couldn't heal her condition and we had to make the difficult decision to put her to sleep. Stayed with her as she drifted off and hope she's in a better place 💔

Every time I've rewatched Twin Peaks: The Return, I get the strong sense that this scene from the beginning is in fact taking place *after* the events of the series/film and not before. As in "Remember..." doesn't mean Cooper to remember these words later, but to remember what has already happened.
