Im going to try the approach where I dont allocate until the value is actually read for the first time.

You can either get multi line strings that dont need allocations, or you can get mult line strings that look good.
Not both.

Im still annoyed at multiline strings though

I could have probably saved an hour by telling unzip no to log anything
