Nah I’m just being lazy 😅 ended up using spans, but thought I’d see if there was a way.

Nothing crazy. Started with not having them to appear italic if the rest of the text is italic. And then playing with sizing and spacing slightly. I think it’s entirely font-face that I need to do

Ideally I’d be able to use some kind of selector at the top level in global.css. I think the only way though is using a custom emoji font and fucking with @font-face for specific Unicode ranges

The bits I’m enjoying:
- playing with svg filters (possibly too much)
- tearing my hair out about unicorn sprite responsiveness (fun. I don’t need hair)

What I’m not enjoying
- delaying actually making it accessible (I’m the only audience, right?)
- the amount of shit JavaScript I’m using
