One big difference from Iraq will be the response to domestic protests. We are going to see federal agents deployed to shoot tear gas and pepper balls and I think we will see a lot of car attacks and other crazy idiots trying to kill people.

I also think that whatever dem won the next election (assuming we have one) would also have no problem continuing that war and escalating. It will be the same sunk cost fallacy we saw in Vietnam and Afghanistan. I do think a dem will almost certainly win if we do this.

Who could have possibly foreseen that trump might lie about something like not wanting to start foreign wars? Nothing about his track record would indicate he is ever filled to the brim with dog shit!

We have also been harassing and threatening them not stop with military action which seems geared at generating a response from them which we would likely use as a pretext to invade. So there is that.
