the thing to remember about mega man (the platformers anyway) is that nobody played more than like 3 of these games so the ones that were denoted best were the ones that came early and were easy. that's why 2 and X1 dominated the discussion so hard for so long

honestly all the main renders do just because of the grungy color palette, the sickly skin tone is most apparent in these. there's def a bit of a difference compared to how put together he looks in the exp screen for example

i think the soejima art definitely does make him look prettier but it still has this aura to it that's really enjoyable, i miss his hair being flat as fuck it looks weird with so much volume in reload
