First ever Labour MP for Basingstoke 🌹
I am committed to using my voice and platform to ending violence against women and girls and helping to build a society where everyone is safe, equal and respected.

Every time we ignore something that doesn't feel right, we miss a chance to set a better example.

Over 20,000 extra appointments have already been delivered for people here in Basingstoke at Hampshire Hospitals Trust. That’s what change looks like.

Great to join QMC for the unveiling of Sam Godfrey-Moor’s Purple Plaque.

Sam turned challenges after maternity leave into What’s On 4 Kids, now helping thousands of families and championing women-led small businesses.

A brilliant role model and a proud moment for Basingstoke.

I’m really pleased that my work on the Planning and Infrastructure Bill Committee has helped shape important Government amendments. These changes add new safeguards, strengthen the protections already in the Bill and clarifies how the Nature Restoration Fund will ensure positive outcomes for nature.

I was proud to take Natalie from Glisten Cosmetics - a brilliant Basingstoke-founded and based business - to Number 11 Downing Street so she could share the experiences and ideas of our local businesses directly with the Chancellor ahead of this autumn’s Budget.

Today we pause to remember all those who have died in service of our country, and expresses gratitude to the brave personnel who continue to serve. We must never forget the sacrifice and service of those who defended our country and fought for our freedom.

On Armistice Day, we pause to reflect and remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country

And to express our gratitude to all our veterans and serving members of the armed forces for their service

Great to meet apprentices from BCoT at ASK Technology 👏

Paul and the team are showing young people that there are amazing design and engineering jobs here in Basingstoke

A focus of this Friday’s Basingstoke Growth Summit is how we train up local people for good jobs and help businesses grow 🚀

At the end of each month, I’ll be sharing a quick wrap-up of what I’ve been doing as your MP: how many people I’ve supported, the events and meetings I’ve attended across Basingstoke and the contributions I’ve made in Parliament on your behalf.

Here's how October 2025 looked!

🚨IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Good news for private renters in England! The Renters' Rights Bill has become law.

🌹 From the right to request a pet to ending ‘no-fault’ evictions, Labour is giving renters the security and stability you deserve

I met with Spencer, Chair of the Hampshire Police Federation, to talk about his campaign to get the Stay Alive suicide prevention app on every police phone in the country.

Police officers face incredibly tough situations every day and we need to make sure they always have the right support.

💧Great to see the Government giving the Environment Agency stronger powers to hold water companies like Thames Water to account

Labour’s plan is clear: tougher penalties, no unfair bonuses, £104 billion to fix our water infrastructure & real reform to clean up our rivers for good

Britain's national security will always be Labour's priority. But for the Tories their priority is seeking narrow political advantage on the back of a matter of national security.

When politicians promise tax cuts without a plan for how they’ll pay for them, it means less money for schools and the NHS, and higher interest rates and mortgages for everyone else

Wishing a very Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating! 🪔

Diwali is a time to celebrate light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.

It was great to join the Light It Up Festival in Basingstoke on Friday.

Proud that the government is building on the legacy of Sure Start, reviving family services and putting them back at the heart of every community

Today marks both World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day.

This artwork - created by a child living in temporary accommodation in Basingstoke - is a powerful reminder of the devastating impacts homelessness has on people’s wellbeing and mental health, especially young people.
