Mainly climate, energy, economics, and sometimes labour.
Yet another attempt to delay climate action by those who don't care about the future of the planet, about reaching climate targets, or about creating an economy that's successful in sectors that matter tomorrow.
This is not compromise, this is failure. This is not leadership, this is giving up.

ETS2 is our insurance net - it only kicks in if there is more demand for emissions than we agreed should be the limit. It will be extremely difficult to reach emissions targets if ETS2 is delayed. Sacrificing a system that ensures real reductions by 2030 for a weak climate goal 2040 is absurd.

You've nearly reached the end of the thread. Now for the good news: - the text is more explicit about the key climate solutions - renewables and energy efficiency. - In contradiction to weak actions the text keeps 1.5 degree alive: But what miracle will get us there?

- By prominently listing CCS and nuclear prominently as "zero- and low-emissions technologies", the text creates the conditions for further burning of fossil fuels, as the contribution of these industries will remain very limited.

- The idea that coal power could be "abated" is completely baseless. - While tripling renewable energy is good, the climate does not care about absolute additions, but about replacing fossil fuels.

First the bad news: Governments are still in deny of the urgency of acting. - A rapid phase-out of fossil fuels is necessary to protect lives and livelihoods on this earth. - The framework of "calling on" governments appears wholly inadequate.
