So, I've seen nursing certifications that are not a degree, but still take about 1.5 to 2 years of formal education to get. Those are usually done at a University as well. So I'm not sure where she's going with that move. Usually the same Universities that offer the certification also offer more.

Maybe it's just me, but when a person doesn't think about the family of their own victims in their own crime, I have zero qualms about the issues the perpetrators family is going to have in their absence. Given the type of crime, there's a good bet the family will be better off.
