The US Secretary of Commerce said that Europe must reduce regulations in the technology sector. The EU should also successfully conclude investigations into US big tech. The US may lower tariffs on steel. The EU's proposals are expected in a few months.

The European Commission has begun setting up a new intelligence body under president Ursula von der Leyen, in an attempt to improve the use of information gathered by national spy agencies. Should there be a common EU intelligence/espionage agency? But is it even doable?

European Commission is considering introducing a strict legal ban on the use of equipment from Chinese suppliers such as Huawei and ZTE in EU countries' telecommunications networks. That would be strong.
