Know where the complexity is

Reducing complexity is often a goal of design work, but you can only do that to a certain degree. Complexity may even be necessary because you are designing something inherently complex.

Every design is only as good as the reasoning behind it

This thinking should be part of the design process: Always ask why this is the right solution for the problem considering the circumstances? How does this solution help customers and the business?

Working on your personal website is a prime example for the importance of deadlines. No stakeholders, no constraints (besides time), no nothing.

Set deadlines, it helps.
