The last few years have seen the largest wave of immigration in American history. All those images we carry in our heads about people arriving at Ellis Island — we just surpassed that. Crime went down. Real wages went up. This is a fake problem. Enough is enough.

i have Two events i remember.

i never related to the experience of "i remember where i was when X happened" (9/11, someone famous died, etc.) until this event.

i remember where i was, what i was wearing, who i was talking to, who was behind them, what i was drinking.

oooooooof yeah, i can imagine how different that must've been. we got to learn about it early enough that when it got announced (read: yelled out loud), everyone checked their phones and no one could tell one way or the other.

My recommendation is, very strongly, that you learn to code if you want to and think it'll be fun, because in 20 years you'll be one of a dwindling number of people who actually know how anything works.
