Here’s the soundtrack playing on my stereo! I have to skip track one, since that supposedly contains the data of the game. Unsophisticated stereos might try to play that data like it’s a song, and I’ve read that it can cause speaker damage! Damn, it feels like I got so close to what I wanted! 😩

Computers don’t run autorun.inf files anymore. I can understand why, since that feels like a security vulnerability. But I wish I could recreate some of the magic of popping in a disk and seeing the launcher appear automagically :) I used my new disk reader to reinstall chuzzle. Tomorrow will be pvz

I went on a little odyssey today. I wanted to put my game and the soundtrack on a CD. Unfortunately, the format is lacking some of the features I hoped it would have. But it does work! And it is really cool :)

You play as Ludwig, Dee, or both at the same time if you want to play local coop! You must scour the level for power ups and battle enemies to season your weapon - a cast iron pan!

I love that Itch.io lets you set a custom noun to refer to your game. I can never decide whether it's a good idea to set it as something silly or just be generic and leave it as "game."😁

I revisited some menu screens. I implemented keyboard controls for your coop partner (it will utilize the secondary keybindings). I also made the button prompts display Keys AND game pad button prompts! #screenshotsaturday

My recent goal has been to make sprites for every entity in the game, and I'm REALLY close now! For this #screenshotsaturday I want to show the new door that actually swings open, as well as the campfire! It feels so satisfying to go through the whole game and not see a placeholder cube 😀 #monogame

Progress has been made on the coop mode of my game! The camera now focuses on both players at once. Players can be revived at checkpoints, which would have been showcased had I not been bad at my own game lol

For example, during testing I found the sound of the cast iron hitting objects to be too annoying! So I lower the volume of the sound if it plays within a second of the last one. Who could have predicted that hearing a banging pan over and over could get tiresome 😂

I can't believe how different my game can look in just one week! The og tilset was starting to make eyes bleed so I spent a little time going back to fix it! I added a some sprites to the signs to help guide the player, as well as deliver jokes.

Text is now translatable! I'm working on migrating all the hard-coded strings into an en.json file. At some point down the road, I'll find someone to do translations!

You might have also noticed that some prompts stay on screen until you perform an action! That's done by passing along a predicate (a function that returns a boolean) along with the prompt. The predicate function is ran every frame until it returns true, which dismisses the prompt.
