Just bought this for my other half for Christmas. He saw it at the Airborne Museum in Oosterbeek back in 2017 and he's been regretting not buying it ever since 😂 #histbookchat

My latest purchase, haven't properly looked at it yet, it's enormous, weighs nearly 3kg. Second photo is from the final page, I looked at it quickly and saw one of those four legged walkers from Star Wars on the left and now can't unsee it!

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?

Maybe it will be ok?

I've read this before but donated it so had to buy another copy as I'm now curious to read again after hearing Philippe Sands say that the journalist involved was a Mossad agent, and hearing elsewhere the forger might have been in the Stasi. Also, it's just a great read #photofriday #histbookchat

At the outbreak of the SWW he transferred from the Royal Engineers to the RAMC, where he joined the Army Blood Transfusion Service. In August 1940 he arrived in Egypt and became responsible for blood transfusion and resuscitation services.

Piece of plain paper if the docs you're looking at are written/typed on very thin paper. Put it behind the page you want to photograph so you get clearer image. Also, the power sockets are not very high above the table so can be difficult to plug in, cube adapter is useful

Still reading this one, full of interesting details but also loving the occasional bitchy comments, e.g. Wavell being an intellectual 'by the standards of the British Army' 😯 #histbookchat #photofriday

Two voucher purchases, surprised to have never heard of the Cooper one as it was first published in 1989, might be interesting background for my research. Been wanting a history of Japan since watching Shogun. #histbookchat
