Almost like university management have forgotten the actual purpose of a university.

And of course not just Essex. This is endemic and the result of treating education as a business, rather than a public good with proven social and economic benefits.

Also deeply ironic for the residents of Southend, where the university of Essex has just announced it will be closing its campus. This provided valuable access to HE in one of the County’s most deprived areas.
