Oh, for sure. And re: the "noble savage" trope, one maybe-not-so-explored aspect is how it relates to regular-degular adventure fiction of the time? Like, I really do see a lot of Tarzan (for instance) in the titular character, and I mean that derogatorily, pfft.

Not quite, but now that you mention it, they ARE both playing in that sandbox of "exotic" and "primitive," but also "his dad was an English lord, so it's totally socially acceptable!!!"
