No, this is just outdated scarcity mindset. My pedantic whining is self-renewing

no one wants to know "who up" anymore though. says a lot about society

maybe you know this but afaik the deeper origin is a bit edgy

I think I “pulled” a back muscle so my dying words here on blooski are: look up “space is a latent sequence”

i am possibly overly influenced by pondering dileep george's mathier theorizing about how the hippocampus works as a hidden markov model (or something)

but your loyalty is really to the internal nonverbal schema, not to the match. at least in a lot of cases! possibly encountering the verbalized thing was what brought the internal schema into existence in the first place, but as a human you don't really know where it came from, it's just there

hmm fair enough [insert meta/recursive thing about how i am now dropping my analogy because it didn't really fit] but i do believe there is an internal experience like: you have an internal nonverbal schema, you struggle to find a verbal match, you find an "okay" one…

One hint that they’re often not doing independent work is the similar situation where someone tries to reason about a moral thing via analogy. irl you tend to see lots of churning through variations on the analogy to preserve the original claim, very little accepting analogy + changing mind bc of it

I’m surprised the English is still as bad as it is! Even in big-corporate appliance manuals

I’ll try it that way next time around

in fact, i'd bite the bullet and say i'm pretty sure we *aren't* alone in our brains. my favorite example of this is how many brain regions receive their own direct retinal feeds. they're pretty much seeing all the same stuff "you" are!

possibly a dumb question, but is there some way to resolve the rest of the spiralian tree, even where ALG don't directly help, by putting more weight on methods that yield e.g. monophyletic Lophophorata etc.? i.e. if you can trust them there, then trust them elsewhere…?

It feels so barbaric to me that one should ever have to know about the location of the studs. The wall is a black box, dammit!!
