UPDATE: Blythe is now home and safe! Thank you all so, so deeply for saving his life.
As of now, we only have to worry about paying off a Care Credit line and other misc. costs (like gas for multiple vet trips, his pain meds, more food, etc).

it is possible to have really boring and arbitrary ones, like in more recent Pokemon games. the choices aren't really providing any personality to your character, aren't adding context to your surroundings, and aren't really good at pacing a given cutscene. that's when i question their utility.

oh, and much more relevant: 1000xRESIST. no matter what choice you make in this scene (and its later, very spoilery twin), there is only one outcome. but i get chills every time i see it.

not every choice in, say, Persona 3 "matters". if we define a choice that matters as one that achieves a certain outcome, then sure, most of them are fluff.
