A neat thing: I got to teach Langston Hughes's "I, Too" to 5th graders yesterday. After a lively conversation about segregation, the Harlem Renaissance, and the "darker brother" metaphor, I showed them this image, and the room lit up; suddenly the poem and the halftime show each made more sense.
