To wrap up the year, @lsemiddleeast.bsky.social published my paper about austerity and the salary crisis. They are simply the most important issues for ordinary people in the Kurdistan Region, but are bafflingly downplayed by outside observers. This hopefully corrects that.

In June, I presented about trends in press freedom and violations against journalists at the 3rd Annual Kurdish Studies Conference organized by @lsemiddleeast.bsky.social and @sheffielduni.bsky.social. Hopefully this research will be published next year.
