The govt think if they hurt people who nominally support them at higher rates (academics, students), people who support them at lower rates (Reform voters?) might hate them less. And they're recklessly indifferent to closures in the sector 🤷 , maybe even secretly hoping for some

This is the sad impact of grade inflation:
