Knock, knock, who's there? B.C. biologists identify unique sounds of 8 fish species
Knock, knock, who's there? B.C. biologists identify unique sounds of 8 fish species
There are grunts and growls, knocks and croaks — but the wild sounds detected by a team of British Columbia researchers don't belong to any of the province's famous forest creatures. The noises are made by fish off coastal B.C.

Earlier this month we spent the day with St'át'imc Government Services exploring invasives like cheatgrass—highly flammable + widespread.

You can remove small patches & replant disturbed soil with natives to reduce fire risk. #FireSmart #invasivespecies

Mud, seeds & plant parts can stick to your 4x4 & gear—then spread invasives to new areas. Before you roll out, clean off your machine!

Protect the trails you love.

Scotch Broom is an invasive shrub that fuels wildfires in the Lillooet area. 🌾 Bright yellow blooms, woody stems, spreads fast. Cut in bloom, don’t pull, and replant bare spots. Bag & landfill—don’t compost.
