For those following along at home:

- our GP has ghosted us.
- after confirming with the hospital that they'd do the tests, we turned up today and it turns out they're not open and have never seen forms like ours before.

And that's what I keep thinking about, when I see Larian talking about using genAI as a placeholder.

How many of those will they miss when they're rewriting? How do they make sure it's all new? Sometimes a phrase really sticks in your head ... Is it yours? Or is it your LLM/Wikipedia?

Probably eight, nine times out of ten we run it through our plagiarism procedures and it turns out fine. The process can be quite labour intensive though, so it delays things.

Those 1.5 other times though?

"Oh, I must have missed it during my rewriting!"

The thing is, doing this leaves artefacts. Maybe it's a sudden weird font change. Maybe it's a spray of hyperlinks. Maybe it's just a series of unbreaking spaces.

Whatever it is, it hits our "oh fuck, plagiarism detected" internal checks.
