In 2024 the City of Minneapolis approved a 21.7% pay increase for police over 3 years.

This happened despite the department being investigated by DOJ for use-of-force related to the 2020 murder of George Floyd.

In 2025, MPD officers will be among the highest paid in Minnesota.

I see a creeping pattern of people who occupy progressive and left spaces that tout common space/friendships with people that say things that are racist, sexist, transphobic, etc.

I think it’s fair game to question why that is and expect accountability for harm caused.

I think there’s an arc of devaluing the power of grassroots movements and distancing from the left that can come with working in politics that I just cannot relate to.

I take issue with “working class” and “middle class” being used interchangeably.

I think it’s absolutely insane that a Minneapolis resident called MPD 19 times before being shot by his racist neighbor and the police chief still gets to keep his job.
