Much improved street space allocation, but that’s a hideous new building in the centre.

Many congratulations to Sabine. My daughters cycle to secondary school, and the most important thing for us has been the closure of Hammersmith Bridge to motor traffic, which has created a safer, quieter route for the majority of the journey.

Rode home down Kensington High Street today (again) in rush hour. Very dangerous and stressful. There should have been a protected cycle lane there but the council ripped it out. There’s your problem in West London.

The audiobook we listened to repeatedly on journeys up and down the M1 was Nicol Williamson’s version of “The Hobbit”, which I was delighted to find on YouTube m.youtube.com/watch?v=msbn...

I see there’s some moaning about cycle infrastructure contributing to ‘congestion’: “As Ed highlights: “It’s a continual evolution of…, changing dynamics around the influence that cyclists and other active travel schemes have…”. Bus lanes are not cycle infrastructure.

Please don’t forget about cycling when considering Oxford Street plans. Some of us have to get from the south-west to Centre Point, and it’s bad enough having to deal with the scrum on High Street Kensington (no protected infra) already.
