I made a thing!

Since the NaNoWriMo website is gone (RIP), I vibe-coded a NaNo-style word tracker, including many stats, UI options, and a cat picture reward for each daily milestone.

Here’s another case, from a few weeks ago. I wanted to create a midterm question that was similar to one of the homework problems in the CLRS textbook. I could have figured out the LaTeX code myself, but it was definitely easier to just upload a screenshot and ask for the code directly.

Ok, this isn’t a killer app or anything, but it’s real and it’s recent — from just last night: My older child is taking a class on Women’s History in Film, and his assignment was to rewatch his favorite movie and see if it passed the Bechdel test and a similar test for non-white characters. 1/?

Yes. It also has a chat interface for constructing the custom GPT, kind of like the chat interface for DALLE3. So you can ask it to make the GPT more conversational and it will update the instructions accordingly. Or edit the prompt directly.

For reference, here’s DALLE3 with the same prompt.

Halloween is deadly enough as it is.

(Also, it's fun to be able to see all the costumes, but it's hard to do so when it's dark.)

This is a nice test/challenge. DALLE3 does a bit better, but it’s still a struggle.

ChatGPT 4 is currently refusing to draw pictures with DALLE3, but offers to make ASCII art instead.
