But we aggressively shift grid draw to off peak overnight and have an average unit price of less than 9p for nearly 18,000kwh.

And the dynamic one
December 3, 2025 at 10:54 AM
Interesting. The static one for us in Kent looks quite high to me compared to IOG.

Oh I don’t know. Chuck a sports exhaust plus a supercharger on it and it’s a wonderful engine. Drivable, powerful and sounds great.

Our overnight a few days ago! We use next to no peak rate at all. Fully electric house, electric battery, heat battery and EVs. Only time we do really is when inverter can’t discharge enough to cover the load.

Good for you.

Don’t let the facts get in the way of internet misinformation.

Or this 1970s milkfloat.

Well indeed! And here we are many many hours later and we’ve only used an extra 0.5kwh during the rest of the day. Probably boiling the kettle and exceeding what our inverter can discharge.

Thanks @stuffer.bsky.social and everyone at IFW, couldn’t be doing this on a Friday without your inspiration.

Hey @octopus.energy - what’s the highest off peak draw you see during a cold winters night?

We’ve just exceeded 100kWh! Heat battery ( @tepeoheatbattery.bsky.social ZEB), ordinary battery, running the A2A during the night to keep house from cooling down too much, hot water tank plus the car!
November 21, 2025 at 7:18 AM
Before and after infra-red shot of a ceiling where we have improved insulation since last winter. You can just see the light fitting on the right for reference. Blue spots = cold spots from poorly installed insulation when house was built in 2008.

You can never have too many coffees @speaktothegeek.co.uk - thanks for the HA Zappi GivEnergy blueprint. #homeassistant

A hundred and a bit miles south in Kent we had a much better day, just over 8kWh
November 12, 2025 at 9:51 PM
Hey @octopus.energy - thanks for the free electricity!! 156kwh! Not bad going.

Night ride on Smiler was brilliant. As was Wicker Man, but Smiler was particularly good in the dark.

The teenager sat next to me screamed MUMMY at one point which really made me chuckle.

18 months ago I sold my business and vowed to spend more of my time doing stuff I love. I think I’ve done okay with that goal. Today? Alton Towers in the Autumnal sunshine. Smiler - world record holder for number of inversions - doing its thing.

Hey @adventureplanet.bsky.social . Busy at AT too today! Love the themed pumpkins. Fast passes much more effective than Chessington yesterday thankfully.

Dragon’s fury has just reopened after the trains were evacuated which was fun to watch. Yeah it’s okay. It’s too busy even with reserve and ride, and the park is tired in places. It is after all Merlin. You can just see the evac attendant….

Will we ever see Vampire ride again? @adventureplanet.bsky.social

Currently in Chessington, Mandril Mayhem is the *only* brave ride open!

Managing to draw just over 17kw FREE ELECTRICITY thanks to Octopus at the moment. And the cars not charging yet (octopus control that) which would be another 7!). #octopus
