But I'm not suggesting anyone use GIMP. It's what I use for small editing tasks just because I've used it since I was a kid, since it was free and Photoshop wasn't.

Wait did I never update Bluesky? shit. I got it back about 5 days later, after a lot of hassle. Very, very, very grateful to have it back.

Admittedly I've hardly ever played games as they were new.
If anything it feels like the hype and pressure around buying games on release day mostly escalated in the last 15 years or so.
Online gaming definitely played a large role in that, but that's mainly attended to by forever-games now.

But a burner account posting a photo of him at an arcade is just not remotely strong enough evidence for such a severe accusation.

I mean to be fair a lot of genuine victims will wait for this sort of thing to come out because its intimidating to go up against a loved public figure by yourself. Unfortunately it really is the best time both for genuine callouts and bogus smears.
