A very wet morning in Mikumi National Park, Tanzania with elephants (Loxodonta africana) from February 2019 … they are such amazing animals to spend time with, even when it’s teeming down! #elephant #loxodonta #wildlifephotography #wildlife #africa #wildlifephotographer #wildlifeconservation

Jelly ear fungus (Auricularia auricula-judae) seems to be found near every badger sett I have ever known; it seems to grow on Elder (Sambucus nigra) that badgers use as a scratching post @badgertrust.bsky.social @nationaltrust.org.uk @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social @shropsbadgergroup.bsky.social

Capture movement - my second attempt at getting the movement of the water next to this beautiful heron even under dull conditions (Ardea cinerea) ... pleased with the water and the learning @rspb.bsky.social @btobirds.bsky.social @sosshropshirebirds.bsky.social @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social

Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) from the summer - a dull overcast day and a first attempt to capture a heron with some movement in the water ... and then the heron took off to climb the cascade to make it harder still!!! @rspb.bsky.social @btobirds.bsky.social @sosshropshirebirds.bsky.social #wildlife

Moving into a beam of bright winter light ... this is Eric (remember Eric and Ernie have this tree as the "front line" when it comes to territorial disputes) looking good (Erithacus rubecula) @rspb.bsky.social @btobirds.bsky.social @nationaltrust.org.uk #bird #birdphotography #birdlover #wildlife

Graham - named because he's by the "G"ate ... I know, I know ... pretty lame naming regime but it's how I roll! Erithacus rubecula in his prime @rspb.bsky.social @btobirds.bsky.social @nationaltrust.org.uk @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social @sosshropshirebirds.bsky.social #wildlife #ukwildlife

Handsome Eric - pretty sure from his behaviour that this is Eric (who battles for territory with Ernie in the spring); he has been bold with me from day 1 this year. How do I know this is a male robin (Erithacus rubecula)? The peak of brown on his forehead is a U shape rather than a V #wildlife
