Jade Downie-Landry on her Sirens’ tribute video:

"It was special. I'm not gonna lie, I got a little emotional when I saw it. I was part of the Sirens for two years, and I have nothing but gratitude for the organization and the fans. It was definitely something that I'll hold on to for a long time."

Goldeneyes forward Tereza Vanisova played a season-low 13:10 against New York today.

Brian Idalski said it was a coaching decision.

Here’s what captain Ashton Bell had to say:

“Obviously it takes a toll on the body, just with the time change and travel and everything, but at the end of the day, all teams are doing it. Either we're coming out here, or they're coming out to us…” (cont)
The Vancouver Goldeneyes are 0-0-1-4 away from Pacific Coliseum. They have yet to record a point outside the Pacific Northwest.

Brian Idalski:

“Let's be honest, the travel is new for pretty much all of these players. The only other league that deals with that is probably the Russian League…”
December 31, 2025 at 10:38 PM
Brian Idalski declined to comment on Claire Thompson’s injury designation.

Thompson was initially listed in Vancouver’s projected lineup, but was scratched before puck drop. The Goldeneyes skated a player short today.

I’ll have some more in-depth takeaways published tomorrow, but there’s a lot to like from today’s #Sirens win, especially with Fillier out.

Really good stuff from the forecheck and PK. Osborne continues to prove she can handle the biggest workload in the league.

Back in a playoff spot for now.

The #Sirens won a season-best 62.7% of their faceoffs today.

Casey O’Brien won 12 of her 15. She leads all PWHL rookies with a 57.1 FOW%.

Kristin O’Neill and O’Brien rank 9th and 10th respectively in the PWHL (min. 20 faceoffs).

No timetable for Sarah Fillier yet. #Sirens head coach Greg Fargo said he can’t confirm if it’s related to the Tejralova hit.
December 31, 2025 at 10:29 PM
No Sarah Fillier today for the New York Sirens. Scratched with an upper-body injury, #Sirens list her as day-to-day.

Only speculating, but have to think it's connected to that massive hit she took from Tejralova on Sunday.

There’s a lot to dig into after last night’s #Sirens win.

The #Sirens dropped their third straight yesterday, falling to the undefeated Boston Fleet.

Here’s a good visualization from Crease Giants that helps explain why #Sirens head coach Greg Fargo continues to praise his team’s process.

By far the best shot rate in the PWHL and a lot of misfortune (96.0 PDO).

Leads you to believe that brighter days are ahead.

Kris Sparre on Aerin Frankel:

“What separates her is her mentality. She's a warrior in there. She fights through traffic. People get in her lane, and she just finds a way to fight and get eyesight on the puck. She has such a high standard that she sets for herself and you see it every game.”
December 18, 2025 at 4:38 AM
I asked Kris Sparre if he’s surprised Boston has taken to his system so quickly:

“Surprise isn't the word. I think what I'm most grateful for is the players. As a coach, you put together systems, you put together identity, and you want to have standards that you uphold every day…”
December 18, 2025 at 4:37 AM
Kris Sparre’s thoughts after the Fleet improve to 5-0-0-0:

“It was a clunky game for us. We looked like a team that just took 10 days off. At the same time, the word resiliency comes to mind. We find a way — and obviously Aerin Frankel gave us a chance to do that.”
December 18, 2025 at 4:36 AM
#Sirens alternate captain Jaime Bourbonnais took accountability for the Ella Huber goal in the 2P.

“I got caught in a bad spot there, for sure. Would want that one back.”

Said the team isn’t hanging their heads after tonight’s loss, and still believes they’re building momentum.
December 18, 2025 at 4:34 AM
Greg Fargo said the changes in the #Sirens Top-9 were “just a shake-up.”

“We're not finishing at the rate that we want to. I think putting Sarah back in the middle, it allows us to be really deep down the middle, and that's kind of what we talked about.”
December 18, 2025 at 4:34 AM
#Sirens coach Greg Fargo had a fairly positive takeaway after tonight’s 2-0 loss to Boston.

“I wouldn't change a lot of the game tonight, other than the results. I think when you look back at it, we carried a lot of the play. We had some great chances. We didn't score on those chances.”
December 18, 2025 at 4:33 AM
Boston Fleet head coach Kris Sparre on Aerin Frankel:

“It'd be really hard to not call her the best goalie in the world.”
