I use Regaine® as a gender-affirming treatment.

My favourite part of the instruction manual is where it says "exactly how Regaine® works is not known".

I'm allowed to purchase it and apply it to my scalp anyway. No one is bothered by this.

And my immediate, cynical, and ultimately correct reaction was, "let's wait a few more days".

The reason I'm not interested in The Running Man (2025) is that the protagonist appears to be the Competent American Man Guy when they should have gone with the Affable Doofus Who Just Bumbles Through.

I have absolutely no interest in seeing any more fantasies of the Competent American Man Guy.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand and a former tobacco lobbyist gave a press conference today. The former tobacco lobbyist commented that the Mount Victoria Tunnel opened in 1931 and the Prime Minister laughed at this even though there was no obvious joke.

He was sneering for the sake of sneering.
I used to work in retail. In my final year a manager took over who inspired me to make it my final year. At one point I was working in the cash room when there was deafening construction one room over. I asked the manager for hearing protection. He said we could write off some earbuds and I could listen to some music. I said this wasn't good enough. I did some other shop tasks while waiting for him to find a better solution to this problem. Later he came up and told me he'd got some earmuffs from the construction people and left them in the cash room for me. If he'd left it at that I might have thought he'd done something right. Instead he made a point of saying, "there wasn't any noise when I was in there". I'd worked in this store for eight or nine years. This manager didn't even make the effort to sign my leaving card when I left. He had no grace, no visible competence, no obvious reason for him to be in this position. Christopher Luxon reminds me so much of him. The Prime Minister of New Zealand at a press conference. The text 'visible incompetence' is placed over him in the style of the meme where 'visible confusion' is placed over Young Old Ben Kenobi.

Yup. He's also truly responsible for the occupation at parliament, if we follow the same standards he applies to Chlöe.

If he wants to play this game he is going to lose so badly.
Winston Peters meeting with the people who occupied parliament, set the grounds on fire, threw bricks at police, and intimidated the residents of Thorndon. By his own standards he is explicitly condoning their behaviour.
