I remember the ending more or less I did not like it cause it left ed and al separated with ed stranded in our world at about the world war 1 time period and only gets resolved with the movie 'Conqueror of Shamballa'

I like both.
I kinda prefer brotherhood because spoilers and I like the ending more.
it is more condensed though properly because it more or less follows the manga plot and was made for people who wanted more FMA
some of the best bits are from final few episodes :)
