My 8yo was gifted a controller that looked possibly used/returned, so I thoroughly tested all inputs in settings and on the Great Plateau in BotW, the first game I played on Switch six years ago.

Having a 2yo boy means accidentally elbowing him in the nose and kneeing him in the lip because you flinched to protect your internal organs when he jumped on you.

The one nice thing about sub zero (°F) temps is that it forces me to be more intentional with Koko's training. When it's warmer out, I just let her wander the yard to find peanuts the neighborhood squirrels hid.

Really glad I took the kids outside as much as I did last week, when the temps were at/above freezing, since this next week is going to see temps and wind chills well below 0°F 🥶

The ads finally got to me and I installed one of those colored water sorting apps. However, in a rare act of prudence, I only allowed myself to play 50 levels before deleting it.

The 5yo was begging to play Breath of the Wild, so I set her up with a new playthrough. She was doing pretty good until a Bokoblin popped out of the grass and made her scream 😂

I think my kids are trying to make me go blind. First the 8yo flung her hand into my left eye and then the 2yo poked his finger into my right eye.

I accidentally made my 5yo cry.
We were playing doctor and, as the patient, I was pretending to be upset while my "owie" was being treated. Apparently my acting is so good it made my empathetic daughter cry. 😂

My kids have been restless (holiday chaos, decrease in outside play time, etc), so I had them channel their energy into slapping and punching my oven mitted hand. Then we practiced a few minutes of focused breathing. I'd say it worked pretty well--the 2yo fell asleep. 😂

Gave Koko a dog-proof soccer ball for Christmas and we played with it for the first time today outside in a blizzard. To say we had fun would be an understatement.
