#Laxmannia squarrosa a tufted species that is widespread in southwest west Australia! Growing in a variety of habitats it’s easily noticeable from its many papery white flowers which gives it the name paper lily!

The ever so stunning #Conospermum stoechadis! The flowers on these are just amazing! Like Synaphea they are Ballistically pollinated, where once the pollinator lands on it it explodes pollen all over the bee!

Most likely #Hyalosperma cotula but would need to be able to have seen the inner involucral bracts, as they have short truncated or curved bracts that are usually obscured by the central florets! I love coming across masses of these widespread daisies, soooooo many of them! 😍🌼

One of the few #Dampiera is saw, which are hard not to see cause they are so damn vibrant! I am leaning on D. lavandulacea, which is a widespread species growing in a wide variety of habitats.

Gettin amongst the sedges now, this is #Mesomelaena preissii, which lacks the usual second long inflorescence bract that give the genus the name semaphore sedge!

No road in sight but there is a roadside tea tree #Leptospermopsis erubescens! I mean I feel like this stunning species needs a better common name! It’s an extremely widespread species and I never fail to be amazed by the display a shrubland of them can put on!

Is that an Ericaceae I see… nope it’s #Petrophile ericifolia, this widespread mostly inland (except in the far south of its range) growing Proteaceae is found growing in sandy soils, and is quite distinctive with its thin branches and terminal drumstick like heads of flowers!

Hard to miss this Daisy, from weird mini Daisy to this larger more classic Daisy style, this is #Olearia rudis! Widespread in southwest and found in the southeast of Australia too, it’s common in breakaways and rocky outcroppings!

Gotta love tint strange Asteraceae, and #Podotheca angustifolia do fit that description! Common throughout the southwest and into the southeast of Australia, they can be found in a variety of habitats. They are commonly called the sticky longheads for their long viscid inflorescences!

#Dodonaea pinifolia in fruit, a common southwest species, and like most species the fruit are the most showy part of the plant!

Continuing in the Hibbertia posts, the last species I saw on this hike was I’m pretty sure #Hibbertia exasperata! Sooo yellow and cheery, seems to be a similar group to Hibbertia rostellata I saw in southern cross

The ever soo pointy #Hibbertia acerosa! This small cushion or mat forming species are named for their leaves with pungent tips. Gotta love Hibbertias!

I’m thinking Possibly this is the the Priority 2 species #Calytrix oncophylla that’s found on Lateritic breakaways! Distribution seems to match too! But Maybe it’s also just C. leschenaultii 🙃 I mean still either way a very stunning species of Calytrix!! 😍😍

Can’t really get a good ID on the #Haemodorum, but thinking H. laxum. Eitherway I love this genus for its weird as hell flowers! Looking as if they are a dead flower even though they are freshly open! So strange! Love them 😍

The bright lemon yellow flowers of #Gompholobium tomentosum! This small southwest endemic shrubs are widespread over a variety of habitat types usually in areas with sand!

#Ericomyrtus serpyllifolia, a widespread species and most widespread of the genus! It’s named for its like foliage reminiscent of Thymus serpyllum.

These super cute flowers are from the species #Adenanthos drummondii, a common lignotuberous species that’s can be found north and north east of Perth! It’s a low growing species that favours sandy areas, this one was growing in white sand in and area dominated by Leptospermopsis!

Tiny little predatory plants! Gotta love the tiny Bryastrum group of Droseras! This one here is #Drosera spilos a tiny one notable for its red markings at the base of their petals!
