I am learning to be a "maker" of robotic and electronic projects as a hobby. I am sharing my journey at: youtube.com/@lorisrobots. If you want to see what I did before I retired, check out my LinkedIn page: www.linkedin.com/in/lori-pfahler-11111a3/
Great price - picked up a copy.

Also Kevin McAleer did a good episode as well: www.youtube.com/live/kXs2nYP...

No - I have never tried those. Looks like you updated to higher quality servos in a later post. Are you using servo easing in your code? I have yet to entirely master that. James Burton did a nice episode on it: youtu.be/jsXolwJskKM?.... Good luck with the project!

I started with a cheap iron. I did OK with that and then moved to a Hakko soldering station FX888D. I love it. My number one recommendation is to solder lots of electronic kits for practice. I made a series of soldering videos that documented my learning journey: youtube.com/playlist?lis...

I did the glass making class (years ago) at Corning where you made flowers using a "pulling" technique. It came out lovely and I still proudly display it in my house. Hope you have a great experience.

I agree. Keeping experienced soldiers makes sense to me. But if Pete says that women must meet the men's standard then everyone should meet the same standard. Acknowledging that experience (that comes with age) is good to have in a unit sounds like that horrible "diversity" to me. Sarcasm intended

The article doesn't say but they should also eliminate the age differences too. If it really is important to exactly match these requirements, there should be no lowering of the requirements as you age. Meet the standard or move out.
