Well, the most efficient way to take advantage of the villager game mechanic is to confine them to a small space where they can’t go anywhere, and you use the emeralds (their currency) to pay for useful items. It’s really easy to move them. It also just looks like slavery and imprisonment LMAO.

I find this an interesting perspective considering that the game doesn’t actually force you to put them to slavery (this is what I assume your problem might be with them), that’s entirely up to the player themselves.
