And if you see a Native being happy, enjoying family and busting face today, don't be an asshole. Joy is resistance. And if you see a Native struggling, help them out, buy them a meal. If you see Natives sharing their truths and histories, just listen and learn.

For example, you can absolutely enjoy today, feast with your family, watch football, give thanks for each other and the blessings you've received AND acknowledge the complicated history around this holiday, the untruths and myths and how they contribute to the erasure and silencing of Native people.

ESPECIALLY potatoes

Mine are out every 2 or 3 from March until October!! They're obsessed with the perfect lawn and have nothing else to do. I am lucky in that I can get away with doing nothing but it's maddening.

All this because I invited a couple friends who could care less beyond having found family to spend the day with.

And I might also make creamed kale because I'm a lunatic.
