Wallace the Brave is high art.
Spud, who wants comfort more than anything but friendship with Wallace, is awed.
Seagull, usually a reliable witness, lapses into masked envy.
Wallace, searching for another fantasy figure, brakes for totally real natural beauty.
Season's greetings from Will Henry.

A recent post by @davidmoralespvd.bsky.social linked to a story on the PVD city council further limiting police cooperation with ICE. It was met with a torrent of ugly comments, the link disabled, and finally David's post taken down. Here's the good news in today's Providence Journal:

Patrick Anderson @waveelection.bsky.social was there for the Journal and his online report includes a stellar video statement by the inflatable Roni Gray of Charlestown who I'd guess could lead the whole damn resistance: www.providencejournal.com/story/news/p...

Not so Roger Williams. He quit when he saw what Puritans were doing. His "liberty of conscience" is key to the freedom of religion ensconced in the First Amendment. He hated the Quakers but he did not interfere with their religious practice. He also learned to speak with his Indian neighbors.

In Orwell's Roses by @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social, a chapter begins with Helen Todd because "bread and roses" and footnotes an elusive but awesome 1911 magazine story by Todd about a women's road trip to rally support for equal voting rights. You're welcome.
