I buy paper books for books I will keep or books I want to learn from (I fill the margins with notes). However, including a reader when I travel saves time and weight.

I buy paper books for books I will keep or books I want to learn from (I fill the margins with notes). However, including a reader when I travel saves time and weight.
The goal is to be able to read the books like I do on my Kindle, but own them. I am curious why so few authors offer DRM-free books. According to my data set of 1, there may not be a real economic reason to allow the publishers/distributors to do this.
