The parties that comprise The Bulwark all supported war crimes in Iraq, Gaza, and long ago in Central America, the Philippines, and South Africa.

And like Netanyahu, for decades Bulwarkers criticized Hamas in public while aiding Hamas under the table to ensure a need for permanent occupation.

Joe Walsh uses the same fear tactic every time he falsely accuses conservative Democrats of fealty to "transgender Marxists": bogeymen who are as real as unicorns.

The Democrats have never supported "gender ideology" or "Marxism"; the most they ever did was say trans people shouldn't be harassed.

• Dehumanization → harsher policy preferences. Many Many Americans dehumanize groups like Mexican immigrants and Muslims; the same people support aggressive policies and—specifically—Trump. Dehumanizing attitudes toward Black people also increased the probability of voting for Trump.
