Mechanical cash register 😍 Large black health with white hot coals & fire roaring away, this is about as close as you can stand. It really does feel like you’re in their front room. Pretty old iron fire guards & kettle pot Vibe check Signs which read “PLEASE Don’t ask the Landlord for DRAUGHT LAGER as a smack in the gob may cause offence” which I am reliably informed was made by an old regular, and used to hang directly above the bar. District pub of the year 2019 and a CAMRA recognition of the pub & its little changed interiors. The artwork in the back room, top image of lurchers and bottom I suspect an original Mark Hearld - snowy field scene with a hare and black lurcher. Black lurcher being the name of the preferred pint here, which is, for legal reasons, 7.4% (that’s according to the pump clip).

Edward Street Tenants Meeting Room entrance, chalk noticeboard and front door. Next TARA meeting coming up. I didn’t get a good enough photo but these standard spec mid century doors are still going strong across the whole complex aside from the odd one or two and they do really bring it all together. I shall return with a better camera at some point “NO RUBBISH TO BE LEFT HERE” so away with it. so. good.
