fun exercise after the fact, since I hadn’t been paying any mind to the years the songs in the final groups came out. the spread turned out to be pretty even: 1982 (6) / 1983 (4) / 1984 (6) / 1985 (4). funnily enough, the two ‘fallow’ years delivered my top picks - my #1s from ‘83, my #2s from ‘85!
