No necesariamente, los quironómidos son ubicuos en cualquier tipo de masa de agua. Pero sí q la abundancia d ciertos géneros (Chironomus, Polypedilum, Glyptotendipes) podría indicar eutrofización (si se confirma tb con bajos números d otros invertebrados, cm el grupo EPT)
