No, I’m not in California, I’m east coast. And, yes, TNR programs are great. I hope more states/communities follow suit. There are way too many unwanted animals in this world, which is heartbreaking.

I googled ear tipping recently because I’ve had a stray that visits my backyard — its right ear is tipped. My friend has a male cat with its left ear tipped and wondered if there was a standard for tipping.

Left or right, I’m just glad that the stray in my yard is spay/neutered.

I just recently found out that which ear they “tip” is significant — they tip the left ears for males and the right for females.

I've had this happen as well, though only one raccoon — you had an army of them!
